Addyson turns ONE!?!

We cannot believe that the time has already come and gone and Addy is now ONE!

Chris and I drove in on Wednesday, May 30th late in the night, so we had from Thurday until Sunday to have full days in Mississippi to spend with everyone.  On Thursday, we went to Tucker's office to visit with my mom, Kathy, Tucker and the rest of the crew there.  We got to pick Addy up from daycare early that day.  She was a little confused at first, but it only took her a minute to figure out who we were and that she was okay!  We took her back to Brook's office for her first cupcake (of many) for the weekend.  That night, we went to Elaine's and Angela's for supper.  Max got to go home with us also and he spent all of his time at Mawmaw and Pawpaw's (Elaine and Mitchell's).

On Friday, we helped Brook in the morning to start getting things ready for the birthday party.  Harley, Hayden and Hunter come over and spent the day there, too.  Chris and I later went back to Tucker's office to go buy him a new iPhone.  After some hard work, we finally got it set up where he can download books and listen to them in his car.  (We are something like a superhero team... just sayin').

Saturday was the BIG DAY!! The party was a blast, and Addy had a ball.

On Sunday, we went to the Huddleston Family Reunion and visited for a while.  Afterward, Chris, Mom,
Dad and I loaded up and went to Buckatunna to see Papaw and spent the afternoon visiting and cleaning carpet for him.

We woke up early Monday morning to tell Addy HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY and give her some loving before we had to leave.  After visiting with her then visiting with Elaine for a few minutes, we hit the road.  However, we took our time going home making a few stops here and there.

It was a great long weekend, and we got to see so many people!!  I hate that I had to leave many of the details of the visit out because that could go on for days, but this is a little summary of our visit home!

Warrior Dash!

A few months ago, Bobbie, Billijean and I decided to do the Warrior Dash.

The three of us plus Chris and Jack left on Friday and went to Atlanta to stay at Dwayne's for the night.

On Saturday, we sat by the pool all day soaking up the sun!

We left Saturday evening and went to Murphy, North Carolina, where we had a blast at Doyle's for supper and stayed the night.

The next day, we FINISHED the WARRIOR DASH in only 45 minutes!!!  It was so much fun... and MUDDY!!  Dwayne was not so excited about us getting into his vehicle to ride back to Atlanta, but we made it okay without too big of a mess ;)

Dwayne dared Bobbie to eat a shrimp tail at supper... that didn't end well.
He also made us put our phones in the middle of the table, and no one was allowed to even look at them!

Shoes people donate after they race in them.

Nice and clean before the race.

One of the first obstacles of many.

Close to the end!

And after...

It was a great weekend.  Definitely one to remember!

Peaches to Magnolias??

A few weeks ago, we decided to make a trip home since we missed going home Easter weekend.  Except this time, we brought Bobbie, Hayden and Billijean home with us for their first ever Mississippi trip!! The drive was long, but we had a good time.  Chris was a little on the funny side asking if Michael Jackson had died and such.

Brook let us keep Addy Saturday morning before the picnic.  Chris, Bobbie, Hayden, Billijean, Addy and I loaded up and went to Hattiesburg to Chick-fil-a for breakfast.  The most entertaining moment was when Addy's diaper couldn't take anymore and she tinkled all over me and our booth.  Chris about had a panic attack trying to get away.  If only we had a video!

We had a fun family picnic at Paul B.

Cute little Jackson!

Dwayne washing his grocery store feet!

The ride home was interesting, to say the least.  We stopped in Mobile at one of the fruit stands to get some fabulous boiled peanuts.  Hayden had a tummy ache somewhere in Florida and literally ran Chris out of the car!

We were tired, but it was a weekend well spent.

Max and Mae

Our "good" computer is still sick, so I have been a little less in the picture uploading mood here lately, so I decided to work on my blogging goal, pictures or not!  I still plan to recap a couple of months with pics when I finally get them, but here are a few things going on around here these days.

Right before we left to go to Mississippi for Christmas, Chris and I went to Valdosta one morning, and when we returned home we heard a sad little meow coming from the empty house across the street.  So I, being the "animal enthusiast," checked it out.  This sweet, tiny little kitten came running to me as soon as she saw me.  Then, Max came barrelling out of our house towards me and the kitten I had just picked up.  Naturally, I freaked out when the kitten started going crazy and jumped out of my arms - to run TO Max!!! She was only a few weeks old at the time, and has now adopted us.  Her name is Mae.  Mae and Max are friends and love to snuggle :)

Other than that, things have been pretty much routine since we got back from Christmas.  We work during the week and hang out on the weekends with a few pinterest projects and basketball games here and there.  The neighboring kids have came over the past two days for basketball games and football throws.

After a parts reorder, Chris finally got his smoker put together tonight and is now in cooking mode! He has a mile-long list of things he wants to cook in it!  We are also hoping to go on a camping trip soon in our new tent.

Our computer is sick :(

So, I decided that I was going to be a better blogger... and our computer got a virus (actually 2)! For now, I will make do with what I have and fill in that two and a half month gap when I get my pictures from that time.

In December, I FINALLY GRADUATED! Woo hoo! I now have a BS in Biology and have no idea what to do with it, but that's totally OKAY! We had some awesome guests for the festivities, including Moms (Tina & Elaine), Dads (Huey and Mitchell) and a "surprise" visit by Addy, Brook and Laken :)    (Sorry, Laken, you ran from the camera, so we don't have any pics of you.)

The next weekend we went to Atlanta to shop for Christmas.  Then before we knew it, Christmas was here, and we were in Mississippi!

This is my new little buddy, Jackson!

(more pics to come - the old laptop is not cooperating very well)

Christmas was great; we got way too many presents that have been put to some good use.  We also got to see all the family (that includes you too, Courtney).  I have sore arms right now from playing basketball using our new basketball goal, and we had the time to play while Rudy the Roomba vacuumed our house!! :)

We spent New Years Eve at Billijean's shooting fireworks and sitting by the fire.  She and I got dressed up to take some pictures.  That only lasted about 10 minutes (ha ha).

(Once again, pics to come later)

Hope that our newer computer gets a good treatment and gets over the viruses very quickly.

No honeybees?

Last Saturday (Oct. 8th) Chris and I started the morning with a 32 mile bike ride in the Hahira Honeybee Festival bike ride.  We had a choice between 32, 62 and 100 miles - since we have only been on our bicycles once this year, we thought that 32 miles would suit us best.  It was great to be back in the saddle, so to speak, and we made good time.  *Very happy*

After the ride and much needed showers, we went into town for the festival itself.  Now being called the "honeybee festival," I assumed that there would be something to do with bees - I was wrong.  Arts & crafts, food, cars, a parade and people are what the festival is all about.  It was a ton of fun (for me anyways) since I love crafts.  If you know Hahira, however, then you know it is a small town with not too, too many people.  However, the honeybee festival changes things drastically!

Needless to say, Sunday we were very lazy after our Saturday full of festivities.  USM won, the Saints won... altogether a good weekend.

Weddings and Family

Saturday, Sept. 17th was a very special day! We went to Mississippi for Margaret's beautiful wedding.  I went to her brunch at Lee's Coffee & Tea where I got to see Margaret, Kathy and some other friends.  It was so nice to see everyone.  Later, I kidnapped Courtney and made her spend the day with me while we all spent time with Chris' family at Aunt Barbara's.  That night before the wedding, we ran by Cynsleigh and Emily's birthday party at Space Tag in Ellisville and got to watch them play (I believe some of the adults were having more fun than the kids).  Then we went by Tucker's office to change, where Brook had a wardrobe malfunction.  It was about 20 minutes before the wedding, when she called me into the room where she was changing - her zipper was stuck.  Josh and I, trying to finish zipping the dress, somehow broke the zipper into two halves.  So, Brook had to wear the dress that I had worn to the brunch (since it was in my car) to the wedding.  Now, Brook and I do not necessarily have the same body build - she is slightly taller than I am.  But she and Josh had enough time between the wedding and reception to quickly go to the mall and buy another dress :)

The wedding was gorgeous, and I am so happy we were able to be there.  We also got to see Ross, John, Gina, Micah and Mrs. Glenda, and Jeremiah, some of our very dear friends who we miss very, very much.  Margaret was a beautiful bride, and the wedding was wonderful.

The reception was a blast, of course.

SO happy we were there - would not have missed it for the world.

Sunday was Nanny's birthday, so Chris and I went to church with the family.  After, we all loaded up and traveled to Wayne County to eat at Pop's fish camp.  Next, we went to the BIG town of Buckatunna to see my Papaw.  We were happy to see everyone!
